Interns are hired and children are registering
The 2023 class of interns include young adults from South Texas to South Carolina (you'll meet them in the next email). They begin arriving May 23rd and will be introduced to their host churches June 4th, start camp June 7th, and be prayed over at Rio Texas annual conference in Corpus Christi June 11th. Please add them to your prayer time as they begin a summer that will change lives.
Summer camps are at almost 80% capacity.

Staff Changes at PT Rio Texas
The executive search team is in the final stages of selecting the next CEO. Kercida McClain, founder and CEO, will be retiring after the summer. The Board of Directors is excited to announce the new CEO in June. We will keep you posted about welcoming the new leader and celebrating Kercida!
Mary Flannigan will be leaving the PT team May 31st. We are so grateful to Mary for helping take PT to the next level and getting summer 2023 ready to go before she moves to her new role as Finance and Programs Manager of the SAISD Foundation. Thank you, Mary!!
Reading Buddy Tools
The new Reading Buddy training video is available and we are excited to announce the addition of an advanced video that will be released this Friday, May 19th, for those who are experienced Reading Buddies (everyone is welcome to watch it). The new video interviews Robyn Myers, PT supporter and children reading guru, sharing ways to engage kiddos who struggle and has an overview of what's in a literacy crate.
